Davey, Amanda ElizabethAmanda Elizabeth Davey, age 49, of La Grange, IL, passed away on March 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved daughter of Jeffrey and Pamela Davey (née Cindric); loving sister of Kimberly Kareska (Lane), Laura Nieland (Kevin), and Carolyn Nagelbach (Dan); cherished aunt to four nephews and three nieces; fond niece of Cindy and Bruce Nelson, cousin to Micaela Lopardo (Matthew) and Megan Jackson (Marcus), and friend of many. Amanda graduated from Lyons Township High School and Judson College. She held two master's degrees and built a career and legacy in education. She was a successful and well-respected school administrator for over twenty years. She demonstrated leadership in all of her endeavors. She coached girls softball for many summers and was a church youth group leader for students from sixth grade to high school seniors. Amanda showed deep commitment to supporting and guiding those around her. An accomplished singer, she loved music and directed many school and church musicals. She organized game nights, scavenger hunts, and applied her signature creativity to annual family gatherings. She will be greatly missed. As a Super Fan of Da' Bears, Amanda loved to spend her Sunday afternoons cheering on the team. Always at the ready to celebrate the Bears' touchdowns with their song. She courageously fought cancer for one year. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors who provided excellent care and support during that time.Isaiah 40:31"but those who hope in the Lordwill renew their strength.They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary,they will walk and not be faint."In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital are greatly appreciated. Visitation 11am until time of Words of Remembrance scheduled for 5pm, on Sunday, March 15th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside.
