Amanda Bishop

Amanda Maria Bishop, 58, of Jonesboro, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Born on June 10, 1967, in Jonesboro to Ruben Hinton and Teresa Young, she graduated from Westside High School in 1986.

Amanda was a private person who treasured her small circle of close friends and deeply enjoyed time spent with her family. Those who knew her will remember her quiet strength and the profound care she showed for the people she held closest.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben Hinton; her sister, Pamela South; her brother, Todd Hinton; and her grandson, Bentley Peterson.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Elliott Bishop of Jonesboro; her mother, Teresa Young of Jonesboro; her son, Jesse Bishop (Heather) of Bay; her daughter, Kandace Johnson (Kevin) of Indiana; and her beloved grandchildren, Sebastian Smith, Brandon Stringer, Rachel Smith, Sophia Otero, Zoe Bishop, Jaysen Bishop, Saria Bishop, and Porsha Wright.
