Alvin "Junior" Gravley
September 26, 1960— March 6, 2026
Cartersville, GA
Alvin “Junior” Gravley passed away peacefully at his home on March 6, 2026, with his loving wife by his side. Junior was 85 when he went to be with the Lord.
Junior will always be remembered by his love for his family! The love of his life for 36 years was blessed to be able to share life and create memories she will treasure always. The love he had for his children and grandchildren brought him much joy. Each and every one made him proud in every way.
To know Junior, you would definitely know of his love of music, which was a true gift from God. He was honored to be inducted into the Rock of Billy HALL OF FAME. He was the staff drummer to Jerry Lee Lewis, Brenda Lee and Ray Stevens. He leaves behind the legacy that will continue for years to come of hundreds of beautiful songs for everyone to remember him by and enjoy. Being asked to be a guest on the Ed Sullivan show was a story he proudly shared often.
The one thing that Junior will be remembered most by will be his love of Jesus Christ and his walk with the Lord. In 1996 he gave his life to the Lord and began living only for Him. Using the gift that God blessed him with (music), he shared stories, songs and sermons with those who needed his influence and encouragement most, the jail ministry. Every Sunday he could be found at Creekside Fellowship Church praising God and doing what he loved, singing and worshiping with his family by his side.
Junior is predeceased in death by his mother and father (Bessie Patterson Gravley & Al Gravley). He was one of eleven children, which have all gone to be with the Lord.
He is survived by his wife and love of his life that were blessed to shared 36 beautiful years (Debbie Gravley). Surviving children are Debbie Gravley, Cyndi Cochran (Tony), Corky Gravley (Heather), Mark Gravley (Vanessa), Brandi Howard (Shane), Michael Richmond (Loretta) and blessed with seven beautiful grandbabies Tyler Bracewell, Grant Howard, Reese Howard, Laura Grace Gravley, Hudson Gravley, Joshua Hux, Michael Richmond and Stevie Richmond. Susan Reese is his beloved sister in law.
