Alton Earl Worthington was born on May 4, 1934, in Grayson County, Denison, Texas, to Fred and Susie Collier Worthington. He grew up surrounded by the love of his family, including his sister, Gertie Louise Worthington, and his brother, Jackie Lee Worthington, who remained cherished touchstones throughout his life. Their deep bond created a foundation of companionship and affection that enriched all who knew him.

Alton built a life marked by quiet strength and generous love. He was the devoted father of Jerry Worthington, Tina Worthington, and Roy Worthington, the proud grandfather of Amanda Sims, Jeremy Worthington, Ashlee Sims, and Jenny Worthington, and the loving great-grandfather of Isla Bocanegra. Alton Earl Worthington will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas. His family and friends gathered to celebrate his life on March 21, 2026, in Arlington, Texas.
