A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 21st, 2026, 2:00 p.m. in the Kinney-Underwood Funeral Chapel in Stamford, Texas.Alton (often known as Junior) was born April 11, 1957 in Hamlin. He is the son of Alton Dean Williams and Virginia Alice Williams. He lived most of his life in Stamford and spent his last few years in Abilene. Alton worked at the Abilene State School for several years and had a true passion for his work. He genuinely enjoyed helping the clients at the facility, even those who were deemed the most difficult. His hobbies included collecting Disney memorabilia, cruising the streets of Stamford and visiting friends. Alton was quite a character, and he always had a crazy story to tell about his adventures as a young man.Alton accepted Christ and was baptized on December 3, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father Alton Dean Williams, Sr. and his mother Virginia Alice Williams.He is survived by his sister Deborah Buchanan of Stamford; brother Josue Williams of Stamford; nephews Devin Williams of San Angelo, Gavin Buchanan of Austin, Anselan Buchanan of Stamford, Josiah Williams of Abilene; nieces Galadrielle Galloway of Anson, Ariana Buchanan of Austin; and several cousins, great nephews and nieces.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
