Alphonso Lewis Blassingame

Alphonso Lewis Blassingame was born on May 28, 1970, to Brenda Gale Gholston Blassingame and the late William Clinton Blassingame.

Affectionately known as “Al” to those who knew and loved him, he was preceded in death by his father, William Clinton Blassingame; his brother, William Bernard Blassingame; and his grandparents, William Gholston and Jimmie Lou Gholston, and Luther Blassingame and Juanita Blassingame.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Brenda Gale Blassingame; one sister, Gloria Celeste Blassingame; two nieces, Gabrielle S. Blassingame (David) and Danielle Blassingame; two great-nieces, Brielle and Rielle Powers; and two very special young people whom Al cared for as babies and toddlers and lovingly considered his own children, Nassir Canada and Dazhia Celeste Blassingame.

He is also survived by two uncles, Luther Blassingame and Rev. Dr. James Bernard Blassingame; six aunts, Iva Jean Goodine, Diane Beasley, Lenoble Warren, Rev. Paula Henderson, Barbara Taylor, and Anita Whitfield; a special friend, Fredrick Gregory; along with a host of cousins and close friends who will forever cherish his memory.
