Westville, NJ
Alphonse Luciano Rochon, affectionately known as Fonz, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born on February 28, 1981, in Camden, New Jersey, he lived 45 vibrant years filled with laughter, love, and an irrepressible spirit.
With the charisma of a rock star and the wit of a stand-up comedian, Alphonse charted his own course through life. He was never one to follow convention or chase traditional careers. Instead, he became the CEO of his own joyful existence, embracing the role of free spirit with a constant supply of wisecracks, pranks, and humor that made him the life of every gathering. Whether on the basketball court or football field, he played not for victory but to entertain and bring smiles to those around him.
Alphonse cherished his family, friends, food, travel, and the simple pleasures of life. He loved his family deeply and is remembered as a caring and devoted brother by his sisters Latonya Rochon, Tracey Booker, Tieshau Middlebrooks, and Teresa Villalobos, and his brother Erick Riley. His mother, Joan Riley, will hold dear the way he could always bring a smile to her face. He was preceded in death by his father, Alphonso Sr., and his grandmother Teresa Rochon. Alphonse also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
A devout Catholic, Alphonse found comfort in Psalm 23: “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff—they comfort me.” His faith and indomitable spirit touched everyone who knew him, and he will be remembered for the laughter and warmth he brought into every room.
