Almond W. Kreb
Passed March 5, 2026
Buffalo, MN
Almond (Al) W. Kreb, age 68, of Buffalo, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born and raised in Long Lake, he was preceded in death by his parents, Al Sr. and Eleanor, and his son, Ian.
Al owned and operated the Play It Again Sports franchise in Buffalo for more than 28 years before recently selling the business. A gifted athlete, he was the starting quarterback for UM-Morris, played semi-pro football, and participated for many years in townball with the Hamel Hawks. He also served as a trainer for some Minnesota Twins players. An avid outdoorsman, he found deep peace in hunting, fishing, taking quiet walks in the woods, or enjoying music from his vinyl collection. Al had the gift of gab, welcomed strangers easily, loved his family dearly, and was always ready to lend a hand.
His proudest moment was the birth of his sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Debra; sons Sam and Garrett (Kameron); sisters Sonja Jacobson, Susan Thompson, and Dorothy Reiser (Larry); brothers Robert and Gary (Bobbi); and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends he gathered throughout his life.
