Hudson, age 74, of Bishopville, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 12, 2026 after a long battle with cancer and went to meet his heavenly father and Lord Jesus. Allen was born on March 31, 1952 to the late Orville (Tab) Hudson and Virginia (Campbell) Hudson at home in Bishopville, MD.Allen attended Bishopville Elementary School and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1970 and then earned a degree in Electronics Engineering at Delaware Tech in 1973. In 1970 he joined the Maryland Army National Guard. Allen was a farmer all of his life and was once an electrical contractor. He also owned Allen Hudson Rental Homes and was a devoted listener at the Morning Coffee Liars' Club in Selbyville. Allen always had a positive outlook and felt blessed with the wonderful life he had and wished to be remembered as an easy going and generous person at heart.Allen lived all his life in Bishopville and loved working, traveling, camping, boating and time with family. In 1993 Allen joined the Berlin Lions Club and eventually became a Life Member. He had many roles and awards, to name a few were Secretary, President, Cabinet Secretary, Melvin Jones Fellowship, Arnall Patz Fellowship and lasting friendship with his fellow Lions.Allen was blessed in having two children, Aaron Hudson (fiancé Dana Warren) and Valerie Yeager (Robert) all of Willards, MD; the love of his life, fiancé Phyllis Anderson; grandson, Camden Yeager; step-grandchildren, Kenneth Yeager and Ally Yeager; brother, Orville "Junie" Hudson Jr. (Deborah); sister, Carol Hastings (Mark); niece Lyndsey Layton (Tim), Cindy Henrickson (Scott); nephews, Brooks Hastings, Ronnie Holland (Sandy) and Denver Hudson; brother-in-law, Robert Owens.He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Owens.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 21, 2026 at the Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main Street, Selbyville, DE 19975. A visitation will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be held at Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
