Sumrall, MS

Alison Lynn Boleware, age 54, of Sumrall, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Born on May 31, 1971, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Willie Senete and Lois Irene Hutchinson Roberts, she moved with her family to Bassfield as a young girl and graduated from Bassfield High School in 1989.

After raising her children, Alison pursued her dream of becoming a nurse, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse degree with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She began her career at Covington County Nursing Home before finding her true calling providing home health care in Jefferson Davis County with Amedisys Home Health Care. Her compassion and gentle presence left a lasting impression on her patients, many of whom remembered her kindness long after her retirement.

Beyond her professional life, Alison was known for her love of cooking, sharing her Southern homestyle recipes on her YouTube channel, “Cooking with Nana B.” Her children cherished her exceptional mac and cheese and perfectly fried chicken. An avid Disney enthusiast, she looked forward to taking her grandchildren to Walt Disney World. She also found peace at Pensacola Beach, where she enjoyed the Gulf waters and sugar sands. A devoted member of Sure Anchor Baptist Church, Alison brightened every room she entered with her joyful spirit and selfless nature, always checking on the elderly to ensure they felt remembered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lois Roberts; step-mother, Angela Gibson; brother, Gary Wayne Roberts; sister, Elizabeth Smith; and mother-in-law, Cathy Dauzat.

Alison is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steven Boleware; her daughter, Olivia Boleware (Brogan Mason); her sons, Brady Boleware (Maranda) and Brennen Boleware (Sydney Bridges); her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Billy Joe and Kathy Boleware; and her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Marleigh Mae Boleware, who were her pride and joy.
