Alice Eld ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home on Mar. 7, 2026.Alice Rose Eld (Rymill), 90, of Natick, and formerly of Wellesley and Mashpee, passed away on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following a long and courageous journey with dementia. Born in Cambridge, MA, on September 9, 1935, she was the daughter of Mary (Prendergast) Rymill and William Alfred Rymill.A proud graduate of Matignon High School's Class of 1953, Alice spent several years living and working in New York before returning to Massachusetts. In 1960, she married Ronald Eld, and together they raised their three children in Wellesley. Alice was a devoted stay at home mother and an active member of the community, including the Wellesley Tennis Association. Once her children were older, she returned to the workforce and built a meaningful career as a Payroll Specialist at ADP in Waltham. In 2001, Alice retired to Mashpee, MA, where she embraced life on Cape Cod. She was an engaged member of the Wind Chime community, serving on their Condominium Association Board, and worked part time at the Mashpee Housing Authority until her second retirement. She cherished the friendships she formed on the Cape and filled her days with golf, tennis, yoga, Tai Chi, and her local book club.Above all, Alice's greatest joy was being a grandmother. Whether it was miniature golf, endless hours at the pool, afternoons at the Mashpee Children's Museum, shopping at the Commons, beach days, or clamming, she always had a fun activity planned. She was a constant, loving presence at her grandchildren's events and took immense pride in their accomplishments and lives.Alice is survived by her devoted children: her daughter, Alison Lowell, and her husband, Scott; her son, Michael, and his wife, Katherine; and her beloved grandchildren-Christopher Lowell and his wife, Kirsten, John Lowell, Alexandra Eld, and Kristen Eld Hudson. She also leaves behind two great grandchildren, James and Mackenzie Lowell; her brother, Alfred Rymill; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her former husband, Ronald; her son, Christopher; and her sister, Irene Kelley.Alice's cheerful smile, gentle spirit, and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Beaumont in Natick for the compassionate care they provided during her final years.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist, Wellesley followed by interment in Cambridge Cemetery.
