Whitesburg, GA
Alice Nadine Henry, age 91, of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on December 19, 1934, in the Lowell Community to the late Michael Anderson Wallace and Clara Jane York Brown, Alice grew up attending Whitesburg School and later worked for many years as a braider at West Georgia Mills. She was known for her strong work ethic and the quiet pride she took in doing her job well.
Family remained at the heart of Alice’s life. She was a devoted mother to her son, Charles Anthony “Andy” Henry, and a proud grandmother to Michelle Henry, Billy James Henry, and John Ross Henry and his wife, Mindy. She found deep joy in her role as great-grandmother to Levi Batchelor, Paris Henry, McKenzie Cowart, Josie Henry, and Maddison Henry.
A faithful member of the Banning Church of God, Alice lived a life guided by her beliefs. Her faith shaped how she cared for others and sustained her throughout her years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Charles Henry; her daughter, Shirley Ann Henry; her grandson, Tyler Batchelor; her brothers, Michael Samuel “Bo” Wallace and Billy Wallace; and her sisters, Louise Shuler, Jeannette Eason, Phoebe Smith, Linda Williams, and Ruth Mannis.
She is survived by her son, Andy Henry; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Rev. Gary Brown; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Alice will be remembered for her love of family, her quiet strength, and the steady, caring presence she offered to those around her.
