St. Marys, PA
Alice M. Ginther, 83, of Neubert Street in St. Marys, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Elk Haven Nursing Home.
Born on November 14, 1942, in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, Alice was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Wolfe Fischer. On February 28, 1964, she married Dennis Ginther, and together they shared more than 62 years of love, laughter, and devoted marriage. A graduate of Central High School and a longtime member of Queen of the World Church, Alice cherished simple joys most of all, especially the Sunday afternoons spent playing cards with her family as they took turns hosting one another in their homes.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Alice’s life centered on caring for those around her. She consistently placed others first, approaching every situation with a hopeful heart and an ability to find light even in difficult times. Her warmth and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; their three children, Mary Ellen (Kevin) Turner of South Carolina, Craig (Crystal) Ginther of Weedville, and Brian (Bobbi) Ginther of Kersey; seven beloved grandchildren, Ryan Turner, Colby Turner, Halsey Gottschall, Shane Ginther, Sierra Ginther, Rachel Ginther, and Zachary Ginther; and eight cherished great-grandchildren. Alice is also survived by her sisters, Diane Brenneman of North Carolina and Barbara (Fred) Klinzing of Emporium, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Fischer and Sandra Tucker.
