Alice Louise Crawford

Alice Louise Crawford, 86, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away on March 12, 2026, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 29, 1940, in Herrin to Charles and Hazel (Yates) Bailey, Alice spent her working years at Olin-Mathis Industries, where she was known for her dedication and reliability. A longtime member of West Monroe Apostolic Church in Herrin, she lived her life guided by a strong faith in God. She will be remembered for the deep love she held for her family, the genuine kindness she extended to everyone she met, and her joy in cooking and baking for those she cared about.

Alice is survived by her children, Carl (Tammy) Crawford of High Springs, Florida, and Cissie Fosse of Marion; her brothers, Charles Bailey of Herrin and Jim (Gayla) Bailey of Tunnell Hill; her sister, Debbie Hutchens of Herrin; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Bill Phillips and Raymond Bailey; her sister, Wanda Jackson; her sister-in-law, Verla Bailey; her brother-in-law, Steve Hutchens; her son-in-law, Jim Fosse; her nephew, Bobby Jackson; her brother-in-law, Robert Jackson; and several cousins.
