A memorial service will be held at a future date.Born on November 1, 1961, in Bellaire, Ohio, Ally was the daughter of the late Samuel Joseph Hunter and the late Ilda Cecile Lindley Hunter of Augusta, Georgia, the fourth of five children who all grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts. A graduate of Amherst Regional High School, Amherst, Massachusetts, Ally earned a BA degree from Smith College (Russian Studies) in 1983. Miss Hunter married Robert Anthony Vasquez Jr. in 1989; the couple were married for thirty-six years.Ally started her career as a site supervisor in residential construction in Falls Church, Virginia. Subsequently she and her husband relocated to Everett, Washington, where they resided for 35+ years. Ally worked for Puget Sound Energy as a Project Manager before joining the Perseus Group of Canada, where she worked in software development for 12+ years right up to her passing. She was a dedicated and loyal contributor in all her endeavors.Ally had accomplished fluency in French and Russian languages; she spent a year studying abroad in Paris. Throughout her life, Ally had a passion for elephants, birds, gardening, and cooking. She had a thriving and accomplished rose garden and had plans for upcoming travel. She had recently visited her sister in California. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, and supportive friend to many. She was kind, gentle and keenly insightful; she will be deeply missed.Ally is survived by her four siblings: Christopher Lindley Hunter, (Maja), of Maisons-Laffitte, France and Evans, Georgia; Dr. Timothy John Hunter, (Stephanie), of Evans, Georgia; Matthew Thomas Hunter, (Nanami), of Berlin, Germany; and, Diana Lynn Hunter, (Janine), of Healdsburg, California; her five nieces, Melodie Anne Winter, Calgary, Canada; Lila Irena Hunter, Maisons-Laffitte, France; Emily Marguerite Hunter, York, UK; Julia Lindley Hunter, Hanover, Germany; and Isabel Marie Hunter, Weimar, Germany; four nephews, Benjamin Christopher Hunter, Calgary, Canada; Jacob Christopher Hunter, Maisons-Laffitte, France; James Steven Hunter, New York, New York; and Nicholas Samuel Hunter, Palo Alto, California; and, four great nephews and two great nieces.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
