He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Millard Sykes, Sr. of Shreveport and Eloise Newton Sykes of Shreveport; and his niece Rhonda Carol Griffin of Shreveport. He is survived by: his son Allen Millard Sykes (Cami) of St. Johns, Florida; his granddaughter Mallorie Sykes of Princeton, Texas; his siblings, Marilyn Sykes Griffin of Shreveport and Dave Newton Sykes (Clovia); his siblings' children, Christopher David Sykes and Chrissy of The Colony, Texas; his son Ron Maksymowicz of The Colony, Texas; and his cousin Ethel D. Puckett of Shreveport.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Veterans Cemetery (7970 Mike Clark Rd, Keithville, LA 71047).
