It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alfred Leist Barfield Sr. of Vicksburg, Mississippi, who passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Durward Barfield, Sr. and Daisy Hamilton Leist Barfield; his son Arthur Durward "Dub" Barfield; and his siblings, Arthur Durward Barfield, Jr. (A. D.), Walter Durward Barfield, Joyce Lee Barfield and Barbara Ann Hallman.

He is survived by: his wife Billye Ann Bowie Barfield; his sons, Alfred Leist Barfield, Jr. (Laura) of Apex, NC, Lanny Brian Bowie Barfield (Linda) of Vicksburg and Jason Brent Barfield (Lori) of Madison; and his sister Janice Barfield of Vicksburg. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (326 Lovers Ln, Vicksburg, MS 39183).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital of Mississippi, in Jackson, MS; Trinity Baptist Church, in Vicksburg, MS; or Cruger Baptist Church, in Cruger, MS.
