Alfred Gaillard Pinckney

Alfred Gaillard Pinckney of Charleston passed away in 2026. A longtime member and past president of the Society of the Cincinnati of the State of South Carolina, he was deeply committed to the organization and its historic traditions.

Born into one of South Carolina’s oldest families, Pinckney carried forward a legacy of public service and quiet leadership. He was known for his dignity, intellect, and steadfast devotion to preserving the heritage of the American Revolution and the state he loved. His contributions to the Society reflected a lifetime of thoughtful stewardship and respect for its principles.

He leaves behind family and friends who will remember him for his character, his sense of duty, and the gentle strength he brought to every role he held. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
