Alfred E. Schuman, 94, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at Glendale Home in Glenville, New York. Born on January 22, 1932, in New York City, he was the son of the late Alfred and Rose (Mayer) Schuman.
Alfred shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Alice (Davis) Schuman, since February 5, 1955. Together they raised two sons, Philip Schuman and the late Paul Schuman. He was a loving father-in-law to Joanne Schuman and a cherished grandfather to Molly Schuman.
A graduate of City College of New York who also studied at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Alfred began his professional career in 1965 with General Electric Real Estate and Construction. He served the company for more than thirty years, retiring as Manager of Projects in the late 1990s.
Beyond his work, Alfred was known for his lifelong passions. An avid photographer, he captured countless spontaneous family moments that remain treasured keepsakes. He also enjoyed boating, skiing, and gardening, embracing the outdoors with quiet enthusiasm. A proud Navy veteran who served from 1953 to 1960, he remained a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Schenectady throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet dedication, love for his family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of everyday moments.
