Preserve forever →Alfonso "Al" J. Miconi
Batavia, NY
Alfonso “Al” J. Miconi, 92, of Batavia, New York, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born to Angelo and Catherine (Attardi) Miconi, Al lived a life marked by quiet strength and unshakable character. His steady presence brought comfort and stability to everyone around him.
For nearly four decades, from 1958 to 1997, Al served as Manager of Purchasing at Graham Corporation in Batavia. Colleagues knew him as a man whose word was his bond—dependable, principled, and deeply respected. A devout Catholic, he guided his life by faith. He was an avid golfer, a loyal Yankees and Bills fan, and a gifted cook who made pasta from scratch and pressed his own wine. No one ever left his table hungry; sharing a meal with Al was to know you were loved.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, in whose lives he remained a constant, loving presence. To them he offered unconditional love and unwavering support.
Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia (Viele) Miconi, who passed in 1997; his parents, Angelo and Catherine; his sister, Monica Raphael; his brothers, Frank, Eugene, and Edmond Miconi; his in-laws, Anthony (Lefty) and Helen Viele; and his sister-in-law, Linda (Viele) Allen.
He is survived by his daughter, Maryann Haigh (Gary); his son, Michael Miconi (Karen); his grandchildren, Jesse Justina Kowalski, Ryan Haigh (Cassie Shearer), Christopher Haigh (Abigail), and Angelina Miconi (Josh Dykstra); his great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Nathaniel, and Levi, with another on the way; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
