Alexander Stafford, known affectionately as Koyote, was born on October 20, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 78. The son of Ellis and Margaret Stafford, he grew up in Columbus, where he attended East High School before studying at the Columbus College of Art and Design. He went on to earn his degree from Central State University and later completed a Master’s degree, carrying a deep pride in the education he pursued throughout his life.

Alexander dedicated his career to teaching and mentoring young people. He taught in Tucson, Arizona, before continuing his work in Delaware, Ohio, and finally in Marion, Ohio. Beyond the classroom, he was a gifted artist who found joy in creating detailed oil paintings that reflected his creativity and love for the arts. A proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., he valued the bonds of brotherhood and community.

He is survived by his son, Alexander Stafford Jr., and his grandchildren, Khalil Stafford, Alexis Stafford, Ayanna Stafford, Allon Stafford, and Alexzandrya Stafford, along with many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Stafford, and his siblings, Lawrence Stafford, Margaret Stafford, and Larry Stafford.

Alexander will be remembered as a passionate educator, talented artist, and devoted family man whose influence continues through the lives he touched and the work he left behind.
