February 15, 1942— March 1, 2026
Tewksbury, MA
Alexander J. Lee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and minister, passed away peacefully at home in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, on March 1, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born in South Korea on February 15, 1942, Alexander earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Chung-Ang University in 1968 and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the same institution in 1970. He immigrated to the United States in 1972. Decades later, he followed his calling into ministry and received a Doctorate in Theology from Boston University in 2002.
Alexander’s life was marked by intellectual curiosity and a fearless pursuit of his passions. He worked for many years as a chemist, explored entrepreneurial ventures, and later devoted himself to spiritual guidance as an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. He approached every chapter with resilience and strength, engaging equally in thoughtful conversations about religious history or bringing laughter and energy to any gathering. He passed on that same curiosity and courage to his daughters, who continue to carry his influence.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jae Sook Lee; his daughters, Jessica (Lee) Moronta and Michelle-Kim (Lee) Cohen; and his sons-in-law, Arly Moronta and Bret J. Cohen. In his later years, Alexander found his greatest joy as a grandfather to Alexa Moronta, Ava Moronta, and Lee Cohen, cherishing every moment with them. He also delighted in his grand-puppies, Baxter and Winston. Together with his devoted wife, he built a loving home filled with faith, warmth, and perseverance. His legacy endures in the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
