June 11, 1941— March 12, 2026
Hartsdale, NY
Alex J. Corini, beloved husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and friend, passed away on March 12, 2026 in Hartsdale, New York, surrounded by his loving family. Born in the Bronx on June 11, 1941, to Larry and Marie Corini, Alex grew up playing stickball in the streets, cheering for the Yankees, and forming lifelong friendships. It was there that he met Dolores, the love of his life, beginning a partnership that would last 61 years.
A gifted student, Alex excelled at Mount St. Michael Academy and earned a scholarship to Fordham University. After serving with the National Guard at Fort Sill in Oklahoma, he returned home to marry Dolores. He found his true calling in education, teaching social studies and coaching for 32 years at Carmel High School. With a deep passion for history and baseball, he left a lasting impression on generations of students who often credited him with shaping their lives.
Above all, Alex cherished his family. He and Dolores built a home filled with laughter, love, and learning, raising three children: Robert, Michael, and Alison. He treasured every moment cheering from the sidelines, sharing stories around the dinner table, and watching his family grow. In retirement, he and Dolores found peace in Little River, South Carolina, where they enjoyed strolling the beach in search of shells and shark teeth, taking golf cart rides with their grandchildren, and gathering the whole family for meals, stories, laughter, and lively card games.
Alex is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Dolores, son Robert and wife Anna, son Michael and wife Cecilia, daughter Alison and husband Todd Hembury, and his cherished grandchildren Emma, Jordan, Tyler, John Paul, and Ava.
