Alex Scott Doak

December 12, 1994 March 8, 2026

Paden City, WV

Alex Scott Doak, 31, of Paden City, West Virginia, was tragically taken from his family and friends on March 8, 2026, in a car accident while on his way to buy new work boots for the week ahead.

Born on December 12, 1994, to Brian and Pamela Doak of St. Marys, West Virginia, Alex became a proud big brother to Jesse in 2000. He graduated from Tyler Consolidated High School in 2013, where his speed and talent earned him first-place finishes in multiple running events at the State Track Meet in Charleston. He remained deeply connected to football, proudly representing the Tyler Knights in the OVAC and BACF All-Star Games even after graduation.

Alex went on to graduate from the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio. He worked as a Union Boilermaker with Local 667 and was employed at the time of his passing as a Union Welder with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 83 in Wheeling. He took great pride in his craft and cherished the friendships he formed with coworkers from across multiple states. His strong faith guided him to live life fully. Alex never met a stranger, and his warm smile and infectious laugh could brighten any room. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing video games with his brother, stepson, and close companions, and enjoying the outdoors—whether riding his dirt bike or buggy, golfing, snowboarding, or cooking. He adored his three dogs, Prince, Buddy, and Hooch.

In May 2020, Alex lovingly stepped into the role of father figure to his stepson, Beau. He embraced him as his own, and the two shared a special bond that brought them both great joy. He is survived by his parents, Brian and Pamela; his brother, Jesse; his grandfather, Robert Doak (Joyce); uncles and aunts Jeff (Debbie) Bosley, Gigi (Bill) Barker, and Cris (Tonya) Doak; the love of his life, Heather Quinn, and her son Beau; and his lifelong friend and brother, Christian Ice. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Patricia and Don Blake and Mary Doak, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ella Bosley.
