Alex Joseph Sabo II, age 73, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, in Sebring, Florida. Born on February 5, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, to Alex and Julia Sabo, he grew up working alongside his family in their restaurant, Alex’s, a beloved gathering place on the Sebring Circle known for its good food and warm company.

He graduated from Sebring High School in 1971, earned a BA from the University of South Florida in 1975, and received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Dayton Law School in 1978. Admitted to the Florida Bar that same year, Alex enjoyed a distinguished 47-year legal career. He served as branch chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s regional office in Miami, became the first corporate counsel at Raymond James, was twice elected president of the Florida Securities Dealers & Advisors, and successfully advocated for legislation protecting elders.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alex found joy in playing piano and guitar, participating in sports, acting in local theater productions, attending the races, and sharing stories with those he loved. He had a gift for words and a deep appreciation for the memories he created with his children and friends.

He is survived by his children, Juliana Elizabeth Sabo, Zachary James Sabo (fiancée Alexia Virue), and Maximilian Alexander Sabo, and by his former wife, Norma Elizabeth Sabo. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Richard Sabo.
