May 16, 1924— March 8, 2026
Wrens, GA
Alene B. Walker was born on April 16, 1925, to the late Willie James Robinson, Sr. and the late Ollie Mae Reid Robinson. She was the third of six children born to this union.
Alene attended Wrens High School, where she graduated, and later continued her education at Paine College. She later married Morris Walker, Jr., and to this union her first child, John Willie Walker, was born. After living in Atlanta, Georgia, Alene moved to Miami Beach, Florida, where she became the proprietor of a boarding house and also worked for the Gordon family.
Later in life, she met the love of her life, Maynor Hall, and to this union her daughter, Cynthia Hall, was born. In 1974, Alene returned to Wrens, Georgia, where she rejoined New Zion Baptist Church and worked diligently for the Lord under the leadership of Rev. Sinquefield.
Alene was a faithful and devoted member of New Zion Baptist Church. She served as an usher, choir member, and dedicated missionary. She later became President of the New Zion Gospel Choir and was given the esteemed honor of Mother of the Church. She remained faithful in her service until her health began to fail.
She was also employed by the Floyd L. Norton family, where she worked faithfully for many years. Alene enjoyed singing, crocheting, and watching her favorite Westerns. Her life was marked by devotion to her family, her church, and her community.
After becoming ill in 2021, Alene remained surrounded by the love of her family and loved ones. On March 8, 2026, at 3:33 a.m., at the blessed age of 100, Alene B. Walker peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Willie James Robinson, Sr. and the late Ollie Mae Reid Robinson; her son, John Willie Walker; her sisters, Kathryn Robinson Yates, Zelma Robinson, and Helen Robinson McDonald; and her brothers, Willie James Robinson, Jr. and Charlie Reid, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Cynthia Hall; her grandchildren, Georgio Hall and Trinity Cyntonia Hall-Baker; her great-nephew, Jamie Smith, and her great-niece, Helena Smith (“Lee Lee”), both of whom she loved as her own grandchildren; her nieces, Helena Smith, Carol Ledford, Artis Lawrence, and Joyce Buckle; and a host of other relatives, church family, and dear friends.
Alene B. Walker will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her loving spirit, and her dedicated service to God, her church, and her family. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
