Alemtsehay Tamirat Tessema

Winkler, MB

Alemtsehay “Alem” Tamrat Tesema was born in 1972 in Wonji, Ethiopia. She spent most of her life in different parts of Ethiopia, where her strong faith and quiet dedication to serving others defined her days. A faithful elder and church secretary, Alem guided and supported her fellow elders while pouring her heart into ministry. She especially cherished working with children through Sunday school and church education programs. With a compassionate spirit, she quietly helped children who could not attend school, fed the hungry, and cared for the weak and vulnerable. Her generosity, deep faith, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met, earning her the love and respect of her community.

Alem was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She is survived by her loving husband Kifle, her children Flagot, Yitbarek, Gediyon, Robel, Saron, Semere, and Hermon, her cherished grandchildren Fufu and Pandit, as well as her sisters, brothers, in-laws, extended family members, and many friends whose lives she touched.

She passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Boundary Trail Health Centre in Winkler, Manitoba, surrounded by her beloved children who held her hands. Her life of faith, love, and service will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
