Alda Liddle ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee on Mar. 17, 2026.Alda Biezais Liddle, age 86, passed away on March 14, 2026.Alda was born on September 17, 1939, in Balvi, Latvia to the late, John Biezais and Nina (Jaunakais) Biezais-Morley.Alda and her family fled Latvia during the end of WWII when Alda was very young. They eventually made their way to an American Red Cross displaced persons camp in Germany. Alda was fortunate enough to take dance lessons there, and that became her dream of a career path she followed. Alda and family were then sponsored to S.C. and eventually moved to Wilmington, DE, where she graduated top of her class. Alda continued to study dance and moved to Brooklyn, NY to continue her dance education and career. She was soon asked to join The Johnny Conrad Dance Company. They traveled across the U.S. as the opening dance show for the most prestigious names of the 50's and 60's.Alda came to visit her mother here in Lima, and she met her soon-to-be husband, Robert Liddle. They married and started a beautiful family. In 1969, they started Brandon Screen Printing, which she owned and operated until 2023.Alda enjoyed teaching dance aerobics, participating in benefits for Memorial Hospital in the High Fever Follies. She loved cooking her favorite Latvian dishes and spending endless hours telling stories of her childhood in Latvia and the displaced person's camp. She loved being hostess to holiday celebrations, where the door was always open to all, and the laughter and love were never short of spectacular.Alda loved Myrtle Beach and would take her children, and later grandson, there. She also loved to go up to Port Clinton to stay and go boating and fishing and play on the beaches for many, many years. Her overwhelming love was spending time with her children, her grandson, Jake, and her great-grandchild, Blake. Her family meant the world to her.To all that knew her throughout her life, Alda will be remembered as the strongest, most generous, selfless, kind, loving, amazing woman that she was. Her grace, beauty, and strength touched everyone she ever met.In the most overwhelming of times, she never flinched. She would say, "This too shall pass". She was always right.Alda is survived by her daughters, Heather Liddle (Mark Gullette), and Tiffini (Jim) Placie, her son, Eric Liddle, her grandson, Jacob Liddle, and her great-granddaughter, Blake Renee Liddle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Inara Febus, and her infant sister, Guna Biezais.A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel.
