He was a devoted son, husband and father who deeply cherished his “queen” and “princess,” always placing their happiness and well-being above all else. AJ found great joy in the outdoors, especially grilling, smoking, and barbecuing, skills his daughter proudly claimed made his cooking the very best. He was an active member of Chilhowie Christian Church and the Banzai Car Club. AJ had a true passion for working on cars and trucks, with a special talent for lowering them. He was employed with Ferrellgas as a dedicated propane delivery driver. He is preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Stanton; grandparents, Robert & Jenny Stanton, and James & Esther NeSmith; along with grandparents-in-law Bobby & Opal Stamper, and Chester Suits. AJ is survived by his loving wife, Heather Stanton; cherished daughter, Kinsleigh; mother, Linda Sue Stanton & husband Ken Little; father and mother-in-law, Roger & Helen Stamper; aunts and uncle, Sherryl Wolfe-NeSmith and Greg & Angela Stamper; brothers-in-law, Allen Stamper and Bryan Stamper; grandmother-in-law Libby Suits; numerous cousins to include special cousins Diana & Mark Runyon, Rachel & Carlos Luna, Jacob NeSmith, and Christa Herring; along with so many loving friends throughout the years to include Tim Baghdasarian, Banzai Car Club, and Chilhowie Chistian Church families. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has shown love, care, and prayers during this time. They are especially grateful to their friends, the community, Cindy and Pastor Justin May, and the Chilhowie Christian Church for their kindness and compassion.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Bradley’s Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie, with Pastor Justin May and Pastor Cody Sturgill officiating.
