Albert Murrell

Albert F. Murrell, age 78, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, passed away on March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Rock Island, Illinois, to the late Allen Charles Murrell and Bonnie Jean Bowman Murrell, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family and a deep sense of duty.

Albert served his country as a United States Air Force veteran from 1968 to 1972 during the Vietnam Conflict and continued his service in the National Guard. He retired after 22 years as plant manager with Universal Minerals. He was a proud Kentucky Colonel and served three terms as Kentucky Regional Executive for the SCCA. In his free time, he found joy in fishing, hunting, golfing, and especially in AutoCross and road racing his beloved Corvettes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Murrell. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elois Ellan Murrell; sons Wilder Allen Murrell (Joy) and Kenneth Murrell (Scarlet); grandchildren Alyssa Joy Murrell and Joshua Allen Murrell; brothers Charles, Alvin, and Allen Murrell; sister Sylvia Murrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will remember him with great affection.
