Albert Henderson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Brown's Funeral Home, Ltd. on Mar. 12, 2026.Albert "June" Henderson Jr.entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Michigan Veterans Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan.Albert was born in 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama, to the union of Albert and Mattie Bess Henderson. He was the second oldest son born to this union.In 1950, Albert's family relocated to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he later graduated from South High School in 1967. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country as a Medic during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1972.Albert had a deep love for reading and owned many books. He enjoyed quiet moments and often preferred to keep to himself. He was very knowledgeable about many things, and though he did not always say much, he listened carefully and observed everything around him.Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mattie Bess Henderson; his daughter, Gidgett Jennings; his son, Archie Tolbert; his brothers, Charles (Diane) McClain, Anthony Henderson, and Terry Henderson; his sister, Geraldine (James) Thompson; and his nephew, Kenneth Thompson.To cherish his loving memory, Albert-lovingly known as "June" to his family-leaves behind his sisters, Alfreda Holt and Teressa Henderson-Taylor of Grand Rapids, Michigan; his grandchildren, Rachel Reid and Derrick Cliatt II; a special niece, Michelle Henderson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren."Military Honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to our country."To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Albert (Jr.) Henderson, please visit our floral store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
