Albert F. “Donuts” Piesik, 93, of McKeesport, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Born in Port Vue on October 10, 1932, he was the son of the late John and Rose Wulczynski Piesik. Al served in the United States Navy Reserves while still in high school and later aboard the USS Meredith destroyer. After his military service, he worked as a machinist and foreman at United States Steel, and in the evenings assisted his wife with perms at her beauty salon. He later took a chance on a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise, eventually owning five locations and serving on the profit distribution board, where he supported fellow franchisees. A longtime member and former board member of the Youghiogheny Country Club, he developed a deep love for golf. He also served as treasurer of his investment club for many years.
Nothing mattered more to Al than his family and extended family, which included many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A lifelong member of St. Mary Czestochowa Polish Church, he held his Polish heritage close to his heart and cherished polka music. Quietly generous, he helped many people behind the scenes without seeking recognition. One achievement that filled him with particular pride was flying as a passenger on the first Concorde supersonic airplane flight.
He is survived by his wife, Angela W. Kolodziej Piesik; daughters, Vicky (James) Bezeredi of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Lisa (Kenneth) Pitchford of White Oak; grandchildren, Jason (Danielle) Bezeredi, Douglas (Mimi Johnson) Bezeredi, and Hanna (Julius) Pitchford; and great-grandchildren, Trent and Tori.
