Albert Adam Bourgeois, Sr.

Albert Adam Bourgeois Sr., known and loved as "Mr. B," "Pa," and "Pops," passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on March 12, 2026, surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Friday, March 27. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Albert was born on October 7, 1936, in Lawtell, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, whom he loved dearly; his parents, Martin and Ada; his brothers, Martin Jr., Delvas, James, Jessie, and Leonard; and his sister, Rosemond.

He leaves behind a family who adored him-his sons, Al Jr., Chris, and Paul; daughters-in-law, Cindy, Kim, and Tracy; grandchildren, Stephen, Kayla (Chase), Paige (Joey), Madison (Bryce), Chase, and Claire; and great-grandchildren, Knox, Gus, and Slayte. He is also survived by his brother, Melvin, and sister, Ruby.

Albert proudly served in the United States Navy at the end of the Korean War. After his service, he attended plumbing school in Louisiana and later moved to Texas City in the late 1950s for what was meant to be a one-year job at Tex-Tin-but that one year turned into a 33-year career. He was a hard worker and a provider for his family.

After retirement, Albert never really slowed down. He became the go-to handyman for family, friends, and anyone in need-because if something was broken, he could fix it. And if he couldn't fix it (which was rare), he'd find a way.

He served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts from 1974 to 1984 and was a member of St. Mary's Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus.

More than anything, Albert loved his family. He showed that love in quiet, steady ways-through his work, his presence, and the way he always made himself available to help. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was the best "wagon puller," a role he carried with joy and pride. Those moments, simple and full of love, are the ones that will be remembered most.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Samantha James and Melinda Gary of Bayou Pines Care Center for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed Albert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's memory to Our Lady of Fatima School in Texas City, the Boy Scouts of America, or a charity of your choice.

Albert will be deeply missed, but the love he gave so freely will continue to live on in all who knew him.
