Alan Workman ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Springer and Son - Aloha Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 10, 2026.Alan WorkmanDate Of Birth: 08/11/1975Date of Death: 03/03/2026Alan Workman, 50, of Beaverton, Oregon, beloved husband, father, brother and son went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.Born August 11, 1975, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of Amos Workman and Debbie Nowlin.Alan was predeceased by his grandfather June L. Parks Jr., Grandmother, Myra M. Parks, Grandfather, Amos Workman Sr., and Grandmother, Doris Marquis.Alan graduated from Spartanburg Day School where he was the president of the freshman and senior classes. He enjoyed playing on the soccer, basketball and baseball teams, receiving the Dent Award for excellence in athletics.He received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Presbyterian College where he received the honor of Who's Who recognition for his involvement in Judicial Council, Student Government, Peer Connectors and President of the American Chemical Society. Alan received a Master's degree in Sports Product Management at the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon.Alan's most beloved job was being a camp counselor at Camp Buc during college. He enjoyed working with the children on outdoor adventures. His interest in the welfare of children led him to support many children's ministries like church mission trips to Nevis, St. Kitts and the Dominican Republic building a church and Christian School.He was employed by Grace Management Group, Spartanburg, SC in several capacities for 26 years. He began his employment there in Human Resources leading to Distribution Manager, Director of Operations and National Sales Executive.At the time of his passing, Alan was employed for 3.5 years with Nike in Portland, Oregon, starting as an Athlete, then being promoted to Admin, Specialist and then Coach. His love of working with children also led him to volunteer at a Title 1 school in Portland.Outside of his professional life, he could always be found enthusiastically cheering for his favorite team, the Oregon Ducks.He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC serving as a Deacon and The SPIHN ministry.Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Crystal Workman; daughters Madison Grace Workman and Riley Kate Workman; brothers Parks Workman and William Workman; and parents Amos Workman and Debbie Nowlin.Alan was a people person right from birth. There was not a shy bone in his body, and he never met a stranger. His first thought was always the other person and how to encourage, support, guide, and comfort.He made this world a better place. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend. We will miss him and look forward to a great reunion in heaven.Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
