Alan Robert MacNeill

Alan Robert MacNeill, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, at the age of 76 in his hometown of Medford, Massachusetts. Born on March 17, 1949, in Medford, Alan lived a full and vibrant life there. He graduated from Arlington High School and built a long career in print journalism as a newspaper printer and press room manager. His dedication, skill, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues throughout the industry.

Alan shared 55 years of marriage with the love of his life, Barbara. Together they raised two children, Ryan and Jaimie MacNeill, who brought him the joy of becoming grandfather to Blake, AJ, and William Beurklian, and great-grandfather to Daryl Beurklian. Family was the cornerstone of Alan’s life, and he passed on to them the values of kindness, humor, and generosity.

An avid golfer, Alan spent many hours on the course. He also held a deep love for the ocean, classic movies, comedy, and music of all kinds. His eclectic musical knowledge and quick wit were admired by everyone who knew him. Those closest to him will remember his gentle nature, warm smile, and the way he made others feel at ease.
