Alan Jerome Koschnick, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2026. Born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin on October 6, 1934 to Edmund and Elizabeth Koschnick, he grew up with a deep sense of faith and family that would define his life.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (“CiCi”) Koschnick, their children Randy (Terri) Koschnick, Kim (Michael) Hafeman and Eric (Lori) Koschnick, grandchildren Lindsay, Katherine (“Katie”), Amanda, Allison, Valerie, Kirsten, Zach and Luke, as well as ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald and his parents.
A dedicated Christian and devoted family man, Alan cherished every moment spent with those he loved. He served four years in the United States Navy in the 1950s, developing a lifelong passion for the sea that drew him back to sail on Lake Michigan throughout his years. After his service, he attended UW-Milwaukee, where he met CiCi on his first day of school in the Union on February 3, 1958. Their relationship blossomed as they danced the Jitterbug to their favorite song, “Earth Angel,” and they married in 1959. Together they raised three children: Randy, born in 1960, Kim in 1961, and Eric in 1966.
Alan earned a bachelor’s degree from UW-Milwaukee and an MBA from Marquette University. He began his career in marketing research at Globe Union before becoming a respected real estate agent at Shorewest Realty, where his friendly nature and commitment to Milwaukee’s North Shore community brought him great success. Known for his honesty and strong work ethic, he instilled these values in his children and grandchildren. A proud patriot who raised his flag daily, Alan found one of the greatest joys of his life in participating in an Honor Flight with his son Randy, greeted warmly by his entire family upon their return to Milwaukee Airport. He remained active in the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center, mentoring new sailors, and in early retirement he and CiCi traveled widely, deepening their appreciation for the world and its people. In 2024, they left their longtime home in Whitefish Bay and moved to Shorehaven in Oconomowoc, where they enjoyed quiet, loving times with friends and family.
