Alan Clark Harrison, lovingly known as “Pempa,” age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on March 11, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on October 26, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was the son of Eli Harrison Jr. and Nelda Jean Darnell (Ashbrook).

A proud veteran, Alan honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer and later as a draftsman. After his military service, he worked as a printing press operator and eventually as a graphic designer until his retirement. He possessed a deep appreciation for the arts and was a talented visual artist who specialized in watercolor and pen-and-ink drawings. He also found great joy in photography and woodworking, creating with his hands whenever he could.

A man of strong Christian faith, Alan was a devoted father and grandfather above all else. He will be remembered for his love of family, his creativity, and his ability to brighten any room he entered. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Alan is survived by his sons, Alan Matthew Harrison and wife Gaye, and William Harrison and wife Amanda; six grandchildren, Hannah Chronister and husband Ashton, Katie Headley and husband Hayden, Lydia Harrison, Cayden Harrison, Sophie Harrison, and Zadie Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Barrett, Baker, and Maggie; his sister, Marsha LaMascus and husband Randy; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli Harrison Jr. and Nelda Jean Darnell (Ashbrook).
