Alan B. Collette Sr.

October 20, 1937 March 12, 2026

Windsor, CT

Alan B. Collette, Sr., 88, of Windsor, passed away on March 12 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Leander and Lucy (Krenz) Collette. Alan proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the identity of “once a Marine, always a Marine” with him throughout his life.

Those who knew Alan knew a man who found deep joy in life’s simplest moments. He approached every holiday and ordinary day with genuine appreciation, declaring it the best meal, the best day, or the best company he had ever known. He gave generously of his time to local youth, coaching Windsor Youth Soccer and Windsor American Little League, and supporting Pack 203 and the Windsor Water Rats. A longtime member of the Elks Club, he enjoyed the fellowship of good friends. An avid golfer, he brought the same steady dedication to the game that marked everything he loved. A loyal Mets fan through every season, he tended his garden with quiet pride and cherished summers at the lake in Moodus, where he gathered with the people he held dearest.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Kathleen K. Collette; his son Curtis Collette and his wife Mary; his daughter Jeanine Lynch and her husband Chuck; and his daughter-in-law Kate Collette. He was a cherished grandfather to Marguerite, Collette, Simon, Carly, Jacob, Anna, and Owen. He is also survived by his brother Paul Collette and his wife Margot, his sister Carol Pudvah and her husband Bernie, his sister-in-law Sister Ann Kane, his sister-in-law Maureen Canning and her husband Joe, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Alan B. Collette, Jr. and his brother Curtis D. Collette, both of whom he carried in his heart always.
