February 28, 1991— March 6, 2026
Wichita, KS
Addison James Roberts, 35, of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Overland Park, passed away on March 6, 2026, just one week after celebrating his 35th birthday. Born on February 28, 1991, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Marybeth and Andrew A. Roberts, Addison grew up in the Kansas City and Overland Park area. He attended Blue Valley North High School, was a member of Boy Scout Troop #122 where he achieved the rank of Life Scout, and proudly belonged to the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. From a young age he embraced the outdoors, enjoying skiing, biking, hiking, basketball, and football. He held a deep fascination with weather and became an enthusiastic storm chaser.
Known for his infectious dimples and kind heart, Addison faced the challenges of Huntington’s Disease and a traumatic brain injury with remarkable resilience. Even as his health declined, he retained his curiosity and zest for life, finding joy in music, movies, cooking, and sports—especially cheering for KU basketball, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the KC Royals.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew A. Roberts; grandparents Ronald T. and Janice Roberts, James R. Cook, Donna Cook Critchlow, Catherine “Kitty” Roberts, and Ray Critchlow; uncle James J. Shannon; and aunt Ann Weigert.
Addison is survived by his mother, Marybeth (Joe) Roberts; brother, Drew (Hannah) Roberts; aunts and uncles Lisa and Dan Cuff, Bob and Jamie Cook, Lauren and Dennis Ross, Katherine (Bruce) Roberts, and David (Mona) Weigert; along with many cousins, extended family members, and friends. His family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and therapists who supported him over the past seven years, and to Joseph Morales, Aunt Lauren, and “Aunt” Deb for their steadfast companionship and countless drives across Kansas.
