Addie Stewart-Law ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Monarch Memorial on Feb. 28, 2026.Addie Stewart Law, affectionately known to many as "Pee Wee" or "Aunt Pee," was a woman of unwavering strength, and profound love for her family. She passed away on February 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy built on structure, stability, and enduring memories.Born to Dottie Stewart and Steve J. Fullwood on December 13, 1938, in Wisner Louisiana. Addie was the second oldest of four children. In 1956, the family moved to Los Angeles, California, where Addie became an active and dedicated member of the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church. She served with distinction on the church's Usher Board under the leadership of the late Rev. James D. Starks, taking great pride in her role within the congregation.Addie's world changed on October 3, 1959, when she welcomed her one and only child, Gwendolyn ,into the world who was a handful. In 1968, she moved to Compton, California, to begin a new chapter with John L. Law. During these years, she worked diligently as an in-home support service worker and served as a familiar, friendly face in her community as an "Avon Lady."Addie was a woman of many interests. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-working on crossword puzzles, going shopping, enjoying holiday picnics, fishing, and attending family gatherings. She loved a good card game and, alongside her was her sisters-in-law, Zonell and Sallie, who was known as the "3 Musketeers." Above all else, she was the family's walking calendar, never missing a birthday, and ensuring every niece and nephew knew they were deeply loved. She remembered everyone's birthday until her final days. In 1976, Addie stepped into her role as a grandmother-a title she wore with great pride. She had nine grandchildren, and to her, they were all her children in the same circle as her daughter. Though she was a strict woman who believed in structure and stability her grandchildren and extended family knew her as a constant source of support and reliability. In 2002, her daughter married Gerald Montgomery; everyone knew just how much Addie loved her some Gerald, whom she considered to be her only son. Following that marriage, Addie continued her faithful walk with God at Greater Love Reformed Baptist Church, led by Pastor Paul Starks. In 2017, she moved to the Antelope Valley to be closer to her daughter and family, where she remained until God called her home. Addie is preceded in death by John L. Law; her mother, Dottie Dodson; her brother, Eddie Jackson; her sisters, Lucille Young and VerLena Perkins; and her great-great-grandchild, Nature Wallace.
