Adam Joseph Camenzend, 40, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2026, from injuries sustained in a work accident.

Born on August 24, 1985, in Sioux City, Adam was the son of Ed and Chriss (Bjordal) Camenzend. He graduated from North High School in Sioux City and went on to earn a degree in Diesel Technology from WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming. Adam built a career that reflected his strong mechanical aptitude and steady commitment, working at North American Truck & Trailer in Sioux City and later in Sioux Falls. Those who knew him remember him as fun-loving, deeply caring, and always open to new adventures.

In his free time, Adam enjoyed golfing and hiking, and he remained a devoted supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He cherished the time spent with family, friends, and close coworkers, finding genuine joy in those relationships. Adam looked forward with great excitement to his future with his fiancée, Bethany Schmidt, as they prepared to welcome their baby girl in the coming months.

He is survived by his fiancée, Bethany Schmidt, and their unborn daughter; his parents, Ed and Chriss Camenzend of Sioux City; his siblings, Kirk Camenzend of Omaha, Nebraska, Sarah (Neil) Probst of Green River, Wyoming, Andrea (Brad) Lones of Urbandale, Iowa, and Stephanie (Todd) Burrus of Overland Park, Kansas; and his nieces and nephews, Nathan, Joshua and Nicole Hasstedt, Andrew and Morgan Burrus, and Ella Loe. He is also survived by Bethany’s parents, Dan and Deb Schmidt of Norfolk, Nebraska, her brothers Tyler Schmidt and Levi (Amy) Schmidt of Norfolk, and her nieces and nephews Alli, Hailey, Haiden, and Maci Schmidt, and Kayden and Cammie Schmidt, along with many dear friends and coworkers.
