January 6, 1986— February 15, 2026
Grand Junction, CO
Adam Gentzler was born on January 6, 1986, at Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colorado. He passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of February 15, 2026, at the age of 40.
Adam spent his early years in Crawford, Colorado. In 1990, his family moved to Paonia, where he attended school from kindergarten through his graduation from Paonia High School with the class of 2004. It was in this small town that he formed many close and lasting friendships that remained with him throughout his life.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and stayed active through camping, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, rafting, hiking with his dog Bo, softball, mud volleyball, and antler hunts with his father. In more recent years, he discovered a passion for country dancing. Sports played a central role in Adam’s life from a young age. After high school, while attending Mesa State College in Grand Junction, he walked into Impact Boxing gym and met Alex Trottier. Alex became his coach, mentor, and friend, helping Adam believe in himself and pursue new goals. Their hard work culminated on April 1, 2005, in Denver, when Adam won his 150-pound Golden Gloves boxing match.
Adam began his working life with summer jobs during high school, including positions with Oxbow Mining Company in Somerset and the Paonia Mosquito Control District. He started as an apprentice electrician at Barnes Electric, later joining Ute Water where he earned multiple water treatment certificates and his Journeyman Electrical Card while continuing his education. In March 2024, he realized a long-held dream by becoming the owner and craftsman of Wrench-Marked Lighting and Lamps, LLC. He designed and built original lamps, chandeliers, vanity lighting, and custom pieces for homes and businesses, pouring his heart and soul into the venture and achieving great success.
Adam is survived by his parents, Rich and Tina Gentzler of Grand Junction; his sister, Sarah Gentzler and Cody Weaver of Fruita; his niece, Madison Gentzler and Elija Herrera and their son Angel of Grand Junction; his paternal grandmother, Rosalie Hall and husband Ray of Wellington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins across multiple generations. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dale and Bertha Ann Linman, Richard F. and Jody Gentzler, and his uncle David Linman. Per his wishes, Adam was cremated.
