Adalberto "Sonny" Pereyo

Adalberto “Sonny” Pereyo, 87, of Meriden, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Born in Meriden on July 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Adalberto J. and Helen F. (Zaslona) Pereyo. A lifelong resident of Meriden, Sonny graduated from Wilcox Technical School and remained deeply rooted in the community he called home his entire life.

He was the devoted husband of the late Jo-Marie Pereyo. Sonny is survived by his daughter, Michelle and her husband, Mark Walerysiak; his sons, Dominic Pereyo and Bryan and his wife, Han Pereyo; his five grandchildren, Stephanie Moreno and her husband, Matthew Moreno, Jaclyn Pereyo-Waidler and her husband, Jesse Waidler, and Gabriel, Seth and Amanda Walerysiak; and his five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Peyton and Rynlee Moreno and Landen and Hayden Waidler. He also leaves his brothers-in-law, Arnold Burt and Kenneth and his wife, Susan Burt; his sister-in-law, Carol Burt; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Sonny was predeceased by his brother, Ronald J. Pereyo; his brother-in-law, Gary “Tex” Burt; and his sister-in-law, Lucia “Cookie” Burt.
