December 16, 1958— February 24, 2026
Palacios, TX
Aaron R. Stark, Jr., a devoted father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Palacios, Texas. Born on December 16, 1958, in Plainview, Texas, to Aaron R. Stark, Sr. and Doris (Darden) Stark, he was raised by his stepfather, Joe Harkey, after his biological father’s sudden death. Growing up on a farm outside New Deal, Texas, Aaron embraced the values of hard work and perseverance that defined his life.
He graduated from New Deal High School in 1977, where he excelled as an athlete in football and track. He later attended South Plains College, earning a certification in welding that supported his lifelong commitment to practical craftsmanship. Aaron returned to his agricultural roots, farming in the New Deal area for many years. In 2019, he moved to Palacios, Texas, to help his cousins with their farming operations. There he embraced a new chapter, acquiring a sailboat and finding peace living on the water.
Aaron is survived by his two sons, Lance Stark and his wife Leslie of Idalou, Texas, and Heath Stark and his wife Hannah. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Houston, Natalie, Charlie, and Miriam Eloise Stark, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Jensen and Neil Stark.
Aaron will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and deep love for family. He valued the relationships he built, dedicated himself to his work, and embraced life’s adventures with quiet resilience. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
