June 3, 1946— March 9, 2026
East Greenwich, RI
A. William “Bill” Pett passed away peacefully on March 9 after a lengthy illness. Born in Cranston, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Irene (Brydges) Pett. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Irene and Ruth Pett.
Bill graduated from Brown University and earned a master’s degree from URI. He served as Senior Public Information Officer at the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and was a longtime adjunct English instructor at area colleges, most notably Rhode Island College. A committed member and volunteer at Westminster Unitarian Church, he also enjoyed acting in local plays and films.
