Angelo Ralph Giofre, Jr., age 82, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Wilmington to the late Angelo and Stella (Nesci) Giofre, Ralph graduated from Salesianum High School in 1962. He enjoyed a long career as a service manager for automotive dealerships, retiring from the Porter Group in 2015. Faith and family were the heart of his life. A devoted parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, he served as a coach, was a charter member of the Youth Activity Council, and volunteered for many years at the annual Italian Festival. He was also an avid Notre Dame Football fan and cherished the many trips he made to campus with his family. Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings remained treasured traditions throughout his life.
Ralph was known for his charismatic personality and warm, welcoming spirit. A loyal friend to many, he had a gift for making everyone feel like family. He loved to socialize, share stories, and spend time with friends, especially when music was playing and a dance floor was nearby. He never said no when asked for a favor, and his smile could light up any room, bringing joy and laughter to countless gatherings.
He is survived by his children, Angelo Ralph Giofre, III (Michele), Dominic Giofre, and Ann Marie Swift (Jason); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew (Monica), Ashley Rose, Dominic, Jr. (Kristine), Morgan, Luke, and Jude; his great-grandchildren, Angelo, Mackenzie, Hailey, and Kade; his brother, Francis; and many nieces, nephews, and members of his large extended family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith (McElwee), in 2011, and by his siblings, Rose Piccirilli, Joseph, Vincent, Dominick, Theresa, Salvatore, and Anthony.
